finished objects

Oh my god what I have a blog or two (or three), maybe I should say some things! Hello!

I have been knitting up a storm, and I’m getting to a point in my knit-knowledge where I’m consistently satisfied with the results. For a while there it was sort of all “ehhh this has a couple weird problems but I guess I’ll wear it anyway, sometimes, who cares” but now I have progressed to MAGIC GLOVES that I would have stone cold paid good money for two years ago (if I’d had money, and if someone had made these and offered to sell them to me):

Last night I added a bright pink fleece lining to the mitten tops, which is extremely toasty on the fingers. This is how I reconcile myself to it being December all of a dang sudden.

After making the gloves I got on a serious Noro Kureyon kick, and I also threw together a Calorimetry for a good friend who’d visited while I was making the magic gloves:

It features the Teapot Button of Love and Warmth.

Then I was still on a tear through all the Noro in my possession, and also I was sick and didn’t feel much like doing anything except knitting and drinking lots of tea, so I made a sweater! Here is a sweater preview:

I finished it over Thanksgiving, mostly in cars and airplanes but also on the couch in my parents’ house. Then I pretty much wore it all weekend because I love it, and then I forgot that you can still smoke indoors in bars in North Carolina and wore it to a bar, and now it smells like a wool ashtray, which is moderately horrifying, and I need to block it anyway, and so I’ll put up more pictures when I do that. The pattern is here; I recommend it.
