I am knitting my first sweater. I have been working on it for just over a month and slogged through like 3/4 of the final sleeve over the past couple days. You can see the basic pattern there, but I made everything longer because what is the point of a sweater if it doesn’t even go down to your waist, other than it’s way quicker to knit that way. I’m hoping to finish it this weekend and post hell of pictures, along with a post on the dress I made with a sewing machine. (I have conquered the sewing machine and now we have an uneasy truce where it usually doesn’t try to eat bobbins and I usually don’t swear at/kick it. Sometimes negotiations break down and we have to, like, get some UN peacekeeping forces in. You know how it is. Stupid sewing machine.)
Anyway: the whole goal of making a sweater in March/April was that by the time I finished it it would be too warm out for me to need it. It looks pretty gross and chilly out now, so I might even get a few days of actual sweater use in before the Chicago weather finally quits teasing and changes seasons like we’re all so desperate for it to do.
